Next weekend we are partnering with Okanagan Spirits for a beer and whisky tasting at the brewery! We have been aging our Pictish Pride Wee Heavy (a Scottish Ale) in a Laird of Fintry whisky barrel, and we'll be pouring samples alongside samples of the Laird itself.
The Laird of Fintry is Okanagan Spirits' signature single malt, much sought-after and available only in limited quantities. It's got all the subtlety and sophistication of a whisky from Scotland, bred right here in the North Okanagan! We are privileged to have access to their barrels, and the Pictish Pride is the perfect beer for aging in the Laird. While lairds are the colonial version of the traditional clan system in Scotland, the Picts go even further back to the original indigenous inhabitants. We hope our partnership is a happy unification of all the layers of history.
Of course you will be able purchase bottles of the Laird of Fintry and growlers of the Pictish Pride for home consumption. You can pre-order pipsqueaks or growlers of the Pictish Pride from our website for pickup at the event.
This event will be all outdoors, so please dress warmly.
