Our Sedition Series of workshops for 2020 starts underground, with a seed saving workshop! Join Sarah Bradshaw of Wise Woman Seeds to learn the basics of growing your own seeds. Starting with understanding the types of plants and their means of pollination and isolation distances - then move on to garden planning and seed harvesting and storage. By the end of the workshop, you'll be ready to buy some locally adapted varieties to start saving in your own garden! Come celebrate the Winter Solstice with us and a select group of friends - and finish your holiday shopping at the same time. Saturday Dec 21  •  10am - 4pm at the brewery, of course. September is a busy month around the farm brewery. We still have summer days and lovely cool evenings, which means it's time to harvest hops! Hops harvest runs from early September to the end of the month, with annual variability. Our hops are coming along beautifully so far! We hire pickers for hops season, so if you want to hang with a convivial bunch for a couple of weeks, let us know. It's easy work, but you have to keep your hands moving! July 1 may be Canada's birthday as a nation (although some of our Newfoundland relatives might not agree with the timeline), but there's a lot else to think about on this day.
